Although ten days is a nice length for a small holiday, at least six months is need to cover a good portion of India's northern states. Our ten days were primarily spent in the state of Rajasthan which is generally the first stop for backpackers landing in nearby Delhi. The state offers a completely different experience to the warmer south. Although there seems to be a lot more tourist traffic, the area seems poorer than the deep south. Beggars seem to be a lot more prevalent and go that bit further to get those precious rupees. Still doesn't take away from the amazing forts and palaces that fill the northern regions.....Including a famous one called the Mahal Taj or something..
